So Loved

Hi everyone! I'm here with a card made with some awesome products from the Classy Cards N Such Store along with my Verve Stamps and A Cut Above Die. My card layout was based on this sketch challenge we are having this week at Classy Cards...

I was also inspired by Verve's Inspiration Challenge: Floral Fantasy.

I was inspired by the sage green chair and the pink roses in the picture. The picture had a vintage feel to it so, I wanted to do a shabby style creation. The main part of the challenge was to include at least one flower on your card. I have lots of pink roses in my patterned paper but I also added a Prima Gillian flower.

I began my card with a pre-made kraft card base. I added a layer of Stardream Rose Quartz to the base. Using the pink rose patterned paper from True Romance by KAISERCRAFT I distressed the edges and added it to the Rose Quartz layer.

Continuing to work with those papers and some Moss cardstock from my stash I created more layers. To the vertical 2 inch layer I added a strip of White Cluny lace. Using the Heart Circles from Spellbinders I created a double layer for my focal point. I stamped the butterflies and focal sentiment from So Fluttery by Verve Stamps. Using the Flutterby die also from Verve Stamps I cut out the butterflies and added Pink Pearls by Want 2 Scrap for their little bodies. To the heart circle layer I added a Prima Gillian Flower.

For finishing touches, I knew I wanted to add an extra little sentiment to the card. I used two of the tag dies from Sentiment Tag 3 by Cheery Lynn Designs to create a double layer and stamped my finishing sentiment from All About You also from Verve Stamps.

This is a great card for a special lady in your life to let them know just how much they are loved!

Garden Fronds

The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.
~Isaiah 58:11

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a card that I designed for the Classy Cards N Such Store. It was inspired by our challenge this week which is to use a stencil on your card. I sure hope you will play along with us.

I started my card with a pre-made Kraft card base from Recollections. I cut a piece of white cardstock that was 1/4 inch smaller on all sides than the base. Using a low tack tape I secured the Memory Box Garden Fronds stencil to the white cardstock. Using the Dreamweaver's Paste Spreader, I scooped out some Translucent Embossing Paste and spread it over the stencil. Using the edge of the spreader, I smoothed the paste down and removed any excess and put it back into the jar.

Now, it's time for the fun to begin! I removed all the tape and slowly lifted up the stencil. I saw a lovely white paste imprint of the Garden Fronds. Next, using some chunky glitter I had in my stash from Stampin' Up!®, I covered the white paste with glitter. Once I was certain I had all the paste covered, I turned the cardstock over and tapped off the excess. Oh how pretty the reveal was!

Once I was certain the glitter and paste were set, I distressed the edges of the white cardstock and then inked them withVersaMagic chalk ink. In the bottom right corner, I stamped a little sentiment. One that is perfect to brighten anyone's day.

Sentiment from Verve Stamps: Small Phrases

Grow in Grace

"Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
~Hebrews 4:16

Hello everyone, it's Jenn and I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things in the paper-crafting world. Today I have a faith-based card to share with you that I designed for the Classy Cards N Such Store. This card would be perfect for those "thinking of you" moments when you want to send a card for no particular reason.

I began my card with a 5.25 x 5.25 card base. I distressed the edges of all the patterned paper used here which comes from the Bo Bunny Autumn Song paper pad.

My image was stamped onto white cardstock with Perfect Medium. I then colored it with Perfect Pearls. Next, the image was die-cut using Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight. I also distressed the edges of the die cut using Tim Holtz Distress Inks and Perfect Pearls.

I added a ribbon and a tiny Prima Petal for finishing touches. The pearl dot in the center of the flower was created with the Viva Decor Pearl Pen in Ice White.

Stamp Set Used: Grow in Grace by ODBD

All the products hi-lighted above can be purchased at the Classy Cards N Such Store. The only exception is the stamp set. You can save 10% off your entire purchase at Classy Cards N Such by using my discount code: JENNIPHER-10.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. My God Bless You.

2014: Restore, Rejuvenate, Revitalize

2013 has ended and left a trail of heartache, disappointments, and personal issues behind. It simply wasn't a good year for me.

Now, it is time to move forward with my 3 little words for this year: Restore, Rejuvenate, Revitalize. No Resolutions! Just promises to take things one day at a time; for that's all we're promised anyways. No more worrying about tomorrow and what troubles it may bring.

You may have noticed that I slowly dropped off the face of blogging for about three months. I was so burned out trying to keep up with everything in my life, taking care of my Mom, trying to live up to Design Team commitments and failing miserably, and my health just kept getting worse. Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse...I was forced into a full-time position at my current job. That was the final straw for me. I shut down my challenge blog that my team and I had worked so hard to build because I knew that I could no longer be there for them in the capacity that they needed. It was painful and heart-breaking but I now know more than ever it was the right thing to do.

My stress levels increased with the full-time position and with that came increased health issues especially with fibromyalgia. Pain, anxiety and depression owned me! I gave up on everything I enjoyed in life because, I no longer was able to find joy in it.

That was 2013 and it is gone and behind me.

2014 is here and it's time to...

Restore: my health physically and emotionally

Rejuvenate: my interests and love for paper-crafting while only creating what I love and enjoy

Revitalize: my Faith in God, spend more time in the Word and listening to sermons and walking in Faith; sharing my faith through blogging

May God Bless You All in 2014...

CCNS: Holly, Bow, & Bling

Hi Everyone! It's Jenn and I'm back to share another Christmas Card with you. I'm using fabulous products available in the Classy Cards N Such Online Store.

I wanted the focus of my card to be on the bow from the Flourishes stamp set That's a Wrap. So, that's where I began my creative process. I stamped the bow image, colored it with Copic markers and then cut it out with detail scissors.

My card base is made from Stardream Jupiter and measures 5.5 x 6.5 inches. This is a lovely, shimmery red that is perfect for both Christmas and Valentine's Day. To the base I added a gold script patterned paper from the Holly Bright Kaisercaft Christmas paper pad.

I placed the bow in the center of the gold script paper. I didn't like the way the bow looked alone so I decided to stamp and color the holly leaves with berries also from the That's a Wrap Flourishes stamp set. I cut them out and placed them in the center of the bow.

For my sentiment I used the tag image with "Happy Holidays" stamped inside it. I cut it out and adhered it in between the bow and holly leaves.

Very rarely do I complete a card without using a die-cut and this one was no exception. Using the Holly Corner by Cheery Lynn Designs and Stardream Emerald, I die-cut two holly corners to adhere to the top left and bottom right corners. I completed the look by adding Baby Rhinestones - Red where the holly berries should be.

Classy Cards N Such: Love & Joy

Hi Everyone! It's Jenn and it's been quite a while since I've posted a card for Classy Cards 'n Such. I had to take some time off to care for my Mom and I want to thank everyone for their prayers and support. Most especially Beverly and the ladies of the Classy Cards 'n Such Design Team.

Today, I am sharing a card with you created with one of the fabulous new Flourishes stamp sets, Holiday Topiaries.

I began with a square card base of 5.5" x 5.5". To that, I added one layer of patterned paper from the Holly Bright 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" paper pad by Kaisercraft. Then I added a green scalloped die-cut border that can be found in the back of the paper pad. This paper pad comes with 4 pages of die-cuts that can be used to enhance or complete your card designs. It's a must-have for all your holiday crafting.

After I had stamped and colored up my topiary, using my Copic markers, I used my  Decorative Labels Eight by Spellbinders, to die-cut the image out. Then I slightly over-stamped my sentiment over the image.

For finishing touches and to add that holiday feel, I die cut three snowflowers using Cheery Lynn Designs Snowflowers Set 1.

Since no card is complete without a little bling, I added Baby Rhinestones - Red to the Snowflower centers.

If you are interested in any of the products I used on this card just click on the gold links to shop. Remember to use my Discount Code: Jennipher-10 to take 10% off your order.

Thanks for stopping by. God Bless You!

ODBDSLC168: Sketch

Hello Everyone! It's time for a new Shining Light Challenge over at Our Daily Bread Designs.

This week we are challenging you to use this sketch to inspire your card design:

Before I share my card with you this week I would just like to take a moment to thank all the lovely ladies over at Our Daily Bread Designs for having me as their Guest Designer for the past two months. Today will be my last challenge with them as a Guest Designer and I have been so honored to have been chosen to play along with them for two months. Wonderful bunch of ladies and so encouraging in every way.

For my final challenge I decided to get out one of my favorite sets from ODBD: Hope; and with good reason too. Someone very near and dear to my heart is a Kidney Cancer Survivor and this person recently had a scare that immediately had them thinking the worst. So, some tests were run and while the individual was waiting for results, many people were praying. About two days before my friend was to return to the doctor for the results, they told me, I know I'm going to be okay. Something changed last night after I prayed and I can just tell you that whatever it was is gone. Well, Glory to God, when my friend went to the doctor for results, all scans came back clean! Still Cancer free! Praise God!

So in honor of the wonderful healing God has bestowed on my friend and the blessing God gave me by giving me the opportunity to be a Guest Designer with Our Daily Bread Designs... I created this card...

Orange is the color for Kidney Cancer. I used Tangerine Tango from Stampin' Up!®

Hello Everyone! It's time for a new Shining Light Challenge over at Our Daily Bread Designs.

This week we are challenging you to use this sketch to inspire your card design:

Before I show you my take on the sketch, I just have to admit what a challenge this sketch was for me. It looks pretty straightforward and simple, right? Well, after my third and final try, I decided to go with that old rule of thumb I've heard about sketches: flip it, rotate it, change out shapes, add a layer, or skip one as long as you can still see the basic outline of the sketch in your design.

Hello Everyone! It's time for a new Shining Light Challenge over at Our Daily Bread Designs.

This week we are challenging you to use this sketch to inspire your card design:

Here is my take on the sketch:

Oh, I had such fun playing with the new Garden Mini Set and Garden Sentiments from Our Daily Bread Designs! These images went so perfectly with some Spring Market Designer Paper from Webster's Pages that I have been hoarding.

As soon as I saw the sketch I knew that I wanted to use my French Pastry Doily Die and French Pastry Mini Doily Die from Cheery Lynn Designs.

I found that great doily border punch on sale at Michael's this week! It's by EK Success and it's one of the deep edge punches.

My corners are Lace Deco Corners A also by Cheery Lynn Designs.

I loved distressing all the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink and it seemed to pull everything together nicely.

I hope that you will join us in our challenge this week. To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, a $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Sunday, August 18, at 8 p.m. EST. One random winner will be chosen and announced next challenge. In order to win this prize, you do not need to use ODBD stamps, but if you have them, we would love to see them!!
