Hello everyone! It's Saturday and that means it's time for another Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge...
This week Korin added a spin to the sketch to make it masculine.
Of course that's one of my weak areas in card-making...masculinity. The only thing I know to do to make it masculine is to 'rough it up' some with distressing and ink and leave off the Primas! Here is what I came up with...
I just love this new set that I got from Sweet n Sassy stamps: Shining Light. The papers are from my stash and it's an older line from Making Memories called Funky Vintage~Lizzie. My card base is River Rock cardstock from Stampin' Up!® but you can't tell that in the photo because I inked the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Honey. I used the embedded embossing technique on the two rectangle panels before I adhered them to my base using the Cuttlebug embossing folder-Tiny Mosaic Texture. I'm not thrilled with the way this turned out but, like I said...masculine cards are not my thing! Hopefully my next card is better.
This is a nice card Jennipher! I love the colors & your layout....TFS!!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the sketch, AND the card. You're right about masculine cards, it's hard for me to. But I think you've nailed it!!! I like how you've embossed two of your layers. I might have to try this. Thanks for sharing. ~ Abby
ReplyDeleteJennipher, this is wonderful! Masculine is always difficult for me to. I want to add a flower or something! haha! Great job with the distressing!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Jennipher, you did a great job at making it masculine. You know, I don't think I've ever made a masculine tag.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
WOW...beautiful card. I love the lighthouse and your coloring is awesome. TFS.
ReplyDeleteYou did a wonderful job on this card!! I love the paper and the embossing over it looks great.
ReplyDeleteI struggle with masculine cards too...always want to add something, they look so plain! Love your lighthouse card! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteJennipher, for someone who shies from masculine cards, you certainly did an awesome job with this one! Great image, colors and work with the sketch! Hope things are going well for you this weekend! Hugs and blessings to you!
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful masculine card, Jennipher! Beautiful image and sentiment and I love your mix of papers and colours.
ReplyDeleteWonderful lighthouse and masculine card!
ReplyDeleteStunning! There is not one thing that I don't absolutely LOVE about this card, Jennipher!!
ReplyDeleteI don't like doing masculine cards. I do girl cards and boy pages. I really should work on doing some boy cards and girl pages. LOL Your card is beautiful. I like the colors and embossing only part of the background, I think it is a great touch.
ReplyDeleteawesome card! i love all the texture you added to the papers!
ReplyDeletehugs and kisses from germany,
