Viva la Verve May #1

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there in cyberspace! I hope you all have had a blessed and wonderful day.

Today I am sharing a card that was inspired by the Viva la Verve Sketch for week one of May. Here is the sketch Verve Diva Amber challenged us with:

My Mom's Pastor has been sick for quite some time and she asked me to make a card for him. I knew that I would need to include some scripture and I had purchased the Our Daily Bread Designs Stamps Scripture Collection #1 and had not had the opportunity to ink them up.

I went back a couple of years in my stash and dug out Stampin' Up!'s Brocade Background DSP. I love to use this collection for masculine cards. Not sure what I will do when it's all gone! The scripture was stamped in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Peridot embossing powder from Stampendous. It's hard to tell in the photo but the embossing powder is such a beautiful shade of olive green and it worked well with the Old Olive cardstock and Classic Ink from SU. I used Elegant Edges cartridge and the Cricut to cut out the pointed square. I used a Studio G stamp along with Old Olive ink to create the background on the River Rock cardstock layer that is underneath the square layers. I used a leafy Cuttlebug embossing folder to create some depth on a couple of the cardstock layers. Lastly, I inked all the edges with Old Olive ink.

Thanks for stopping by today!

  1. Jennipher, this is so pretty and elegant! I love the papers and color you used.

  2. I am sure this card was appreciated by him, it is lovely. I just got the elegant edges cartridge too and I am so happy with it. Haven't played with it tons but I like the savings on not buying so many nesties. I wish they nested better though, but I am just beginning to use my cricut after having it for years.

Thanks for visiting my blog and taking your precious time to leave me a comment. You have blessed my day.
