Sweet Stop Sketch 113

Hello blogging friends! It's Saturday and time for another sketch over at the Sweet Stop. This time Korin challenged us to make a round card.
Since honesty is the best policy, I'm going to go ahead and tell you that I don't really shine at creating round cards. So, when I saw this one I let out a big `ole groanFree Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net !! But, I turned on my trusty Cricut Expression and inserted the Wild Card cartridge and ended up with this...
I started with a base of Pale Plum cardstock from Stampin' Up!® I know it doesn't look like Pale Plum but that's because I inked the edges with Milled Lavender Distress Ink. To that base I added Enchante' Designer Series Paper from SU; another retired oldie but goodie! Next, I cut out a rounded rectangle using George & Basic Shapes cartridge and the opposite side of the Enchante' DSP.

Let's have a look close up:
Here you can see the opposite side of the Enchante' DSP which has text on it.  The Iris is a Grand Adhesion from K & Co.'s Cottage Garden Collection. The purple bling is from the Recollections brand at Michael's.

Here you see the heart and soul of the card! One of my favorite prayers! This incredible stamp is from the Serenity set by Verve. I cut out the pointed square using the Elegant Edges cartridge. I know you get sick of me using that one! I promise I have others. It's just so perfect for card layers. I lightly inked the edges with Milled Lavender Distress Ink.
And for a side view...

Well, I survived the circle card and even managed to fit this card into the Dare to Get Dirty Splitcoaststampers Central Theme Challenge: Text Me! It's my first time playing along with the Dirty Dozen and I've been a Fan Club Member for awhile now! The Dirty Dozen has some fabulous creations for you to view using the "printed word".  But you can only view them if you are a Member of the Fan Club.

Well, I hope you will join us at the Sweet Stop and play along with the sketch this week. I would love for you to visit my fellow Sugar Babies to see what they created for this week's sketch.

Here is the line-up:

I want to thank you all for stopping by today!

Note: I am always so grateful for the comments and followers that I get, that I make it a point to return every single one of them and I return them in the order they are received. I also think it's just good blog etiquette to do so. When blogger went down a few weeks back I got behind on returning comments. I am currently working on returning comments from June 10th to the present. Please know that I will get to your blog and leave you some kindness. Thanks to all of you for touching my heart the way you do with your kind words and faithfulness to visit me. May God Bless You All!

  2. Oh my goodness! This is GORGEOUS! So many wonderful details right down to the pretty purple stones! Those flowers are beautiful! That was one of my first Verve sets and I LOVE it too! Thank you for the inspiration to pull out my cricut! I paid WAY too much for it to be collecting dust! ha!
I agree about the blog etiquette as well. Goes for someone who posts a challenge and then does not comment on cards. Seems rude to me :(
I'll have to check out the DD challenge this month. Shame on me for not playing very often since my DD days.
    Have a GREAT weekend!

  6. Beautiful card. I love that prayer also. I don't do round cards either, so I guess I should get out my Wild Card cart. and see what it has to offer me in a round card. The last time I made one, I bought the foundation and went from there.
