Verve Get Your Diva On: Tag Your It!

The Verve "Get Your Diva On" challenge this month was "Tag Your It!": create a tag or something with a tag.
Now, I wanted to play in this challenge but, boy oh boy, tags are not one of my go-to items to design with other than the little tiny ones I stamp a sentiment on. I really wanted to do something cool using 3 tags on my card but, this is one of those occasions where you see it in your head but, it looks completely different on paper.
My first thought was to "not blog" this card but, since this blog is all about my paper-crafting journey, good or bad, I decided to go ahead and share it.
My card base is Basic Black cardstock from Stampin' Up!®. To that I added a distressed and inked layer of First Edition Specialty Paper also from Stampin' Up!. For the back two tags I crumpled them up and then used a direct-to-paper inking technique with Antique Linen distress ink to give them an aged look. Then I stamped them with images from the "New Mercies" set from Verve. I added some black pearls to the center of the flowers and the bottom of the focal point tag with the scripture on it which is also from the "New Mercies" set.
I'd love some feedback on how I could have made this card better.
Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you all have a great week!

  4. You did a great job with the tags, I think the card looks great with the three tags and the DSP you used behind them. I do the same thing, so you are not alone, one thing in the head, something else on paper, but I post it anyway, but your card came out wonderful, not to worry.

  6. I think that your card looks wonderful, Jennipher. I love the layered tags, a very clever layout. Beautiful scripture, too!
It might be one of those things where you will have to let it sit a while and look at it again before you can enjoy it as much, maybe because it looked different in your mind.

  12. I really like this card - the way you used the tags, the awesome distressing of the background paper and that little flower. Beautiful work - sometimes we just have to let the paper go where it wants to - inevitably it is always pleasing to someone - even if we may not be happy with it ourselves. Happy Stamping!
