Perfect Sentiments Challenge 02: Friendship Inspiration

It's Wednesday and time for a new challenge at Perfect Sentiments!

The Challenge Occasion: Friendship
The Twist: use the inspiration picture below to inspire your card design

We are honored to have Heart Song Designs sponsor our challenge this week!

Leah Cornelius, the owner and illustrator is giving away one free digi to the random winner. You can visit Leah at her personal blog, Paper Blossoms.

Here is my take on this week's challenge:

I loved the colors in the bedroom and the clean lines. I felt it called for a clean and simple card, which I rarely do. So, I left my edges un-inked! I truly feel like there is something missing from this card. What do you think?

Here is a side view:

I used a Verve Stamp set called Kindred Spirits. The paper is from my stash of SEI from their Granny's Kitchen Collection. Anyone remember that one? I used Crumb Cake and Soft Sky cardstock from SU. I don't own a sewing machine so that is hand-stitching you see on there. I used my Cricut Expression and Lacy Labels cartridge to cut out the circles. The scalloped oval is a Spellbinders die called Lacy Ovals.

My card design was based on this sketch from Verve:

  9. Oh Jenn, this turned out beautifully! I love it all! Great choice of dp's, and I'm a circle girl - so I love the circle elements. Great job on that hand stitching! I don't have a sewing machine either, and I love the stitched look. I love that Spellbinder's die you used, too. I think I NEED that one - I'll add it to my list! lol Fabulous job, girlfriend!

  10. Love how the stripes directly mimic the picture, yet the other patterns copy the color and 'clean' feeling of the inspiration. Wonderful use of the picture and a fabulous card!
