I needed to make a birthday card for one of my co-workers who has a birthday coming up this week. She just so happens to be a Godly woman so Scripture would be more than appropriate for her. Her favorite color is lavender.
I like to start my cards off with a sketch even if I can't follow it to the letter so I went over to Mojo Monday and found this sketch to work with...
Here is what I ended up with...
I knew that I wanted to use this Watercolor Bouquet DSP from K & Co. However, I needed to find a cardstock that would match it. So, I dug into the retired Stampin' Up collection that I have and wouldn't you know that Lavender Lace was the perfect match. Who remembers that color? I know I never had much use for it when it was in ample supply. Now that I only have a few sheets left, I've found something to match it. Isn't that just the way things go?
Supplies: pre-made card base by Recollections; Lavender Lace CS from SU; Watercolor Bouquet designer paper from K & Co.; tag from Watercolor Bouquet Tag Pad from K & Co.; die-cut acetate floral embellishment from K & Co.; adhesive border from K & Co.; Liquid Pearls in Lavender Lace; Scripture stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs Scripture Collection 4; Janome Sew-Mini for stitching; Dusty Concord Distress Ink; Black Memento Ink; Spellbinders Lacy Circle Die.
